J. Zac Christman is a sharp and progressive bankruptcy attorney in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, admitted to practice law generally in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Specifically, Zac is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Supreme Court, to name a few. Zac graduated from Dartmouth College in 1993, then Cornell Law School in 1997, after which, he returned to open a solo practice in the Stroudsburg area, focusing on bankruptcy, landlord/tenant law, and juvenile justice.
In 2001, Zac joined William G. Schwab & Associates, where he focused on bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation, including representation of Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 Trustees. At William G. Schwab & Associates, Zac represented William G. Schwab, in his capacity as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee, in litigation that eventually reached the Supreme Court of the United States of America, where the Trustee obtained a reversal of a ruling of the Bankruptcy Court that had been affirmed at every lower appellate level.
In 2007, Zac joined the Stroudsburg firm, Newman, Williams, Mishkin, Corveleyn, Wolfe & Fareri, P.C., where he focused more on consumer bankruptcy cases and related litigation. Zac continued to represent creditors and trustees in addition to consumer and business debtors in all aspects of bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation. Zac continued to handle complex litigation to the appellate level, where necessary, occasionally resulting in changes to the established law.
Fisher Christman can fulfill the need for bankruptcy representation for individuals and corporate entities, including both debtors, creditors, and other parties, including Trustees. Zac has represented debtors, creditors, and trustees in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12, and represented debtors and creditors in Chapter 13. Zac has served on the Board of Directors of the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association since 2014. In 2016, he was elected Vice President. Subsequently, Zac was President of the MDBBA until October 1, 2018. He currently has an active role on the Board of Directors as past President.
Now, Zac continues in his specialization of Bankruptcy and Consumer related law at a solo practice in the county seat of Monroe County. Zac is a native of the Stroudsburg area and is the proud father of two children, Andrew and Alanna. In his spare time, he enjoys kayaking, tennis, basketball and live music.
